29 tables of players, that’s 126 people, braved the rain and the temporarily limited parking at the Campbell Community Center to attend our unit’s December holiday party. The unit provided turkeys cooked by President Dan Turkus and Vice-President Ray Yuenger. (I’m starting my re-election campaign early. If you want a turkey, vote for me.) The members provided a variety of potluck dishes and wines. Everything I was able to get to was tasty.

accommodate everyone, though Will Watson had to hop over chairs to fulfill his

My last column reported all but the final days of the nationals in Phoenix. The rest of the story is that Faye Parsons & Bonnie Beardsley took first in a senior pairs event. Rose Meltzer’s team won a knockout.
STAC week took the place of most
sectionals in December. At the Sacramento sectional,

I’ll recommend attending . . . by air. What should have been a four-hour drive

just finished. I have results for every day but the last two. Good weather
