On Sunday March 30th at 12:30 p.m. we’re having our unit game honoring our mini-McKenney and Ace of Clubs winners.

I’m still lobbying for someone to pay me to cover the Hawaii regional in person. Instead I have to rely on the Internet to tell me that Rose Meltzer’s team had success in two knockouts and a Swiss event. Don Nemiro’s Swiss team won another event.

At the San Francisco sectional, pair strat tops went to Stephen Tu & Will Watson, Steve Chen & Michael Fleisher, Eric Yang & Mike Sullivan, Ursula Gueldner & Frank Napolitan, Richard Jacobs & Hiram Shen, Ron Baron, and Ray Yuenger. Gary & Jan Soules not only had a strat top, but finished first in the two-session pair game. Winning in their Swiss brackets were Stephen Tu, Will Watson, Michael Abrams & Michael Migdol, and Ursula Gueldner, Frank Napolitan, Richard Pitzer & Ellie Hall-Pitzer.

At the Livermore Valley sectional, Li-Chung Chen had a strat top. Frank Lowenthal finished first in the two-session pair game. Winning in their Swiss team brackets were Ed & Barbara Barlow, Bob Ritz & Frank Lowenthal. Dana Brown & Tania Moalem won their bracket.

10 tables turned out for our January unit game. First in Flight A were Gary & Jan Soules. First in B were Ginn Hua & Jerry Teng. First in C were Carol Stein & Nadine Hood. Participants raised money for the International Bridge Fund.
