Are you ready for our next membership appreciation dinner and game? Mark your calendar for Sunday, July 10. We’ll be eating in a new location, the Chicken Coop in downtown Campbell, probably around 5:00 p.m. After that we’ll return to the Community Center for a stratified pairs unit game.

Carole Dietz and Lynn Yokel are having a new beginner game at our club on Tuesdays at 3 p.m.

Having just returned after a lot of bridge hands and socializing at the Sacramento regional, I’d like to do nothing more than collapse on my recliner, but first I’ll report the results since my deadline looms. It looked like Rose Meltzer’s team was winning the two-day Swiss event. I don’t have all the latest Swiss results. On winning knockout teams were Dianne Shannon, Don Nemiro & Fran Dickman; Robert & Linda Caren; and Michael Fleisher.

Winning in two session open pairs events were Anne Boboricken, Ted Richmond & Bill Reister, and Kit Humphrey. Kit also recorded a stratification top on another day, as did Li-Chung Chen, Lynn Yokel & Ron Siegrist, and Shaila & Hemant Mandpe. Other unit members distinguished themselves in single-session events.

At the Monterey sectional, Henri Fahri and John Hoffman had a first place finish in one pairs game. T.-C. Yang did in another one. Patricia & Richard Bader had a stratification top. In the Swiss teams, Michael Fleisher & Mindy Foos were first in their strat.

During STAC week, the following unit members scored over 65%: Faye Parsons & Joyce Hatfield, Don Nemiro (whom I mistakenly labeled an “honorary” unit member last month), Celso & Consorcia Ravelo, Stu Goodgold, Ted Richmond, Ray & Maxine Lubow, Tim White, Carol Woodard & Harry Shannon, Xiaoyu Cheng, Lynn Yokel & Ron Siegrist, John Prior & Joe Chui.

Congratulations to new Bronze Life Master Rita Randolph and Gold Life Master Barbara Harkleroad.
