By the time you read this, we will have already had our Third Annual Unit Dinner at Fung Lum Restaurant, which occurred on Father's Day, Sunday June 15^th. There were 180 sign-ups, so we should have at least a 45 table Unit Game.  I’ll have more on this next issue.

The election for the new Directors was a very close race. Ray Yuenger, Neil Webb, and Marshall Yancey were reelected. Will Watson was elected in his own right after having been appointed to fill a vacancy. The new to the Board will be Tania Moalem, Mich Ravera and Stu Goodgold. Yes, I know that is 7 people, however we had one of our Directors resign to take care of her ailing mother.  I am looking forward to working with all our new people and look forward to some new and fresh ideas.

Are any of you interested in teaching Bridge in some of our local schools?  It sure would help the game to continue on, and possibly expand to the numbers we heard of in the past.  If you are willing to donate some of your time toward that end, please call Lynn Yokel.  She can provide you with lesson plans and lots of great info.

As you probably know, the parking lot closest to the club has been closed, due to the construction of new tennis courts, however, the new lot off Campbell Avenue is now open.  So give yourself an extra minute to get to the game, and don't forget to smell the roses on the way.... the Lincolns (deep reddish color) smell great!

All that is require is that you send a message to me at maravera@prodigy.net . The message should contain your enough information about you so that I am reasonably sure that you sent it. Unless you tell me otherwise, you will get only the “Final” edition in Word format. WebTV users are best advised to request HTML format or retrieve the on-line version directly from the Web Site.

All games are held at the San Jose Bridge Center (408-871-1232) at one W. Campbell Ave, Room J-68, except those identified as “in Sunnyvale” and “at Oakwood”. The Sunnyvale game is held at 1085 Tasman (2^nd Clubhouse), Sunnyvale. The Oakwood game is generally held at the Oakwood Garden Apartments, 700 Saratoga Ave., San Jose. Check club postings or call for the exact dates and times of the Special STaC and Special Sunday games, and of the 499er Potluck. Games are often reduced, relaxed, or cancelled during local tournaments.
