Minutes for June 4, 2008.

Sec Report - Minutes approved as amended

 

Tres Report - Closing Balance $11,409.00. Accepted pending question about the director’s fees.

 

Ethics – no new business

 

ACBL News – Reno, Carson City, wish to join our district. Grass Valley has voted against joining but one of the members is circulating a petition to join district 21 as well. The San Francisco NABC earned $25,669.39 profit from the national tournament. The first two regionals earned a profit of $4000 total for the two tournaments. The ACBL voted to have a tax attorney look at the new IRS tax forms and would be paid a maximum of $2500 for this service. Women’s trials will probably be held at the Sacramento regional. Bruce Blakely will be filling in for Roger Smith until a new replacement is elected to replace Roger. Bruce will be coming to speak to us at the September meeting.

 

Elections -  Joel Koransky, Eileen Kotecki, Stu Goodgold, Shirley Foreman, Lyle Supp, and Dan Oneal will be the newly elected board members.

 

Membership appreciation game. - The Tables will be delivered Sat. so volunteers will be needed to bring tables over to the community center.  Will will direct the game.  Directories will be ready for the membership dinner.

 

Fall sectional – The Campbell middle school will be the site for the Fall sectional Sept 19, 20 and 21 will be the dates of the Fall sectional. Moved that we hold the sectional on these dates in this location. Seconded and approved.

 

New business – Unit game for July. The second Monday, July 14th will be the date. We will try the eight is enough team game for July. Motion tabled. Moved that Imp pairs will be the format for the July.  Motion carries.
