Unit 507 -- Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Partner/Roommate Database

A new Unit 507 Bridge Partner/Roommate database has been set up online to help local players find partners and/or roommates for either club games or tournaments.  To see the database, you must be a member of SantaClaraValleyDuplicateBridge-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, which is an email group devoted to news of local duplicate bridge clubs, but you can have your request posted without joining.

Once you’ve subscribed to the above group, when you log onto this group's page, you should see a list on the left including Messages, Links, Database, and Members.  If you click on Database on the left or on this link, Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Database, you'll see a database designed to serve as classified ads for local players seeking bridge partners, teammates, and roommates for club games and tournaments.

How does it work? 
If you're looking for a partner or roommate, please send an email to SJBCPartners@yahoo.com with:

· What event(s) you need a partner or roommate for (e.g., regular Weds. night club game, Saturday pairs at next sectional, roommate a week at the next nationals, etc.)

· Contact information (name, phone number, and/or e-mail)  (Note:  If you don't want contact information posted to this moderated group,  please let us know, and  SJBCPartners@yahoo.com will forward your contact information only to those expressing an interest in playing with you.)

· Masterpoints/skill level (e.g., 525 pts, 2000 combined points across team, beginner, etc.)

· Preferred Style (e.g., 2 over 1, Standard Yellow Card, Precision, etc.)

Then what?
A Yahoo Group moderator will post your information to the Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Database (click link to see database), which is viewable only by the members of the Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Yahoo group.

Note:  To prevent your information from being changed by anyone else, only a Yahoo group moderator can add, edit, or delete it, so email any desired changes to SJBCPartners@yahoo.com.  Since we have other jobs, there may be some delay, though we'll try to keep the Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Database up-to-date.  We will delete requests that have elapsed.  Please let us know if you no longer need a partner or roommate.

To repeat, click on SantaClaraValleyDuplicateBridge-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to subscribe to the Unit 507 group. Then click on Santa Clara Valley Duplicate Bridge Database to see who is seeking a partner or roommate. Without joining the group, you can still e-mail SJBCPartners@yahoo.com to have your request posted.  You just won’t be able to view the other requests that have been posted.
